We have some updates to share with you regarding recent changes to Facebook’s Group scheduling and certain reporting metrics API impacting all third-party tools, including Sendible.

While Meta has not fully shared its reasons for these updates to its API, they are likely part of the platform's ongoing efforts to enhance user privacy and security, improve the quality of the metrics provided for the new Pages experience and to reduce confusion and inconsistencies that may have resulted from these deprecated metrics. You can learn more about Facebook’s decision in their announcement.

Our goal is to keep you in the loop as early as possible and be as transparent as we can about these upcoming changes to ensure minimal disruption to your Sendible experience. Here's what you need to know.

The good news

  • We have added more in-depth analytics around the video content you publish on Facebook within your Facebook reporting. Just head to your Facebook Page reports in your Reports dashboard to find your video analytics.
  • Scheduling and publishing to Facebook Pages remain intact with no interruptions.
  • You will still be able to monitor engagement through your Priority Inbox and Social Feeds for Facebook as normal.

Key areas of impact

Groups scheduling

Starting April 15th, scheduling and publishing content for Facebook Groups will no longer be supported, as Meta is phasing out this functionality for all third-party tools.

Reporting

Starting 14th March 2024, Facebook will phase out several insights metrics. These metrics allow platforms like Sendible to gather detailed insights and analytics from Meta's platforms, like Facebook, for reporting purposes. Most of the metrics affected are related to interactions, such as shares and comments, either at a page or post level.

For Quick Reports, this means reporting on Audience Engagement and some demographics metrics will no longer be available on Sendible from 13th March. Additionally, engagement data on your top posts may only be retrievable for the past 30 days.

For full details of the impacted Quick Report metrics, see our support article here.

For users with Custom Reports, see our support article here for a full list of impacted modules.

While there haven't been any replacement plans shared yet by Meta, we're actively working to minimise the impact by seeking out different ways to offer interaction metrics. Instead of solely relying on direct insights, we're exploring alternative approaches.

The good news is you will still be able to view all your interactions in your Social Feeds and Priority Inbox as normal, and there will be no changes to how they work there.
