The video demonstrates how your social management tool can track your marketing campaign efforts.
UTM tags allow you to monitor traffic to your link through the Google Analytics report (under Acquisition- All traffic- Source/medium).
Click Compose message, choose the service to post to, click on the Shortening icon and insert the link you wish to track and shorten.
The pop up window allows you the option to create a new template or use a pre-set Google analytics template. There are two columns headed Parameter and Value, please fill six fields with the following:
In the first Parameter insert ‘UTM_source’, next to it in the Value field type in the source of the link which could be a search engine or the name of a mailing list.
In the second Parameter field insert ‘UTM_medium’ which is the method of delivery for the Value field e.g. post card, social, email or banner.
In the final parameter type in ‘UTM_campaigns’ and the corresponding values field is the name that helps you keep track of your campaign efforts e.g. christmas special or feature update.
Select Apply/Insert and schedule a post for your social media message to go public.
